WHAT IS EHEC?

The European Hydrogen Energy Conference (EHEC) is Europe’s leading scientific and technological event on hydrogen, recognized for its organizational excellence, international prestige, and strategic relevance for the energy transition.

Aligned with Spain’s National Hydrogen Strategy and supported by the European Union, EHEC 2026 will bring together over 1,500 professionals from more than 45 countries, alongside 100+ exhibitors representing the entire hydrogen value chain.

The program will feature 4 plenary sessions, high-level networking activities, B2B meetings, and 256 parallel sessions selected through a rigorous review process overseen by an international scientific committee, ensuring the highest academic and technical standards.

EHEC serves as a global meeting point for scientists, policymakers, business leaders, and industry experts to exchange knowledge, showcase innovation, and accelerate the development of a sustainable hydrogen economy.

HISTORY OF EHEC

Since it was first held in 2005, the European Hydrogen Energy Conference (EHEC) has stood as one of the most influential events in the field of hydrogen technologies. Established and organised biennially by the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2), EHEC has evolved into a key international platform that brings together leading researchers, policymakers, and industry experts to promote the development and adoption of hydrogen as a clean and sustainable energy vector.

Over the years, EHEC has showcased major advancements in hydrogen-related R&D, from early developments in fuel cells and electrolysis to the latest breakthroughs in large-scale hydrogen production, storage, and mobility applications. Its continued growth reflects Europe’s increasing commitment to clean energy innovation and cross-sector collaboration.

WHAT SETS EHEC APART?

EHEC stands out as the benchmark event for the hydrogen sector, by seamlessly blending scientific excellence, technological innovation, and industry leadership.

While many events focus on either research or business, EHEC uniquely integrates both worlds, connecting cutting-edge scientific content with strategic insights from leading global companies offering a 360º view of the hydrogen value chain.

Its institutional participation ensures alignment with European and national energy policies, while the exhibition area creates a dynamic space for showcasing real-world applications and fostering collaboration between innovators, investors, and decision-makers.

EHEC is where science meets industry — and innovation becomes action.
