Archigas is pleased about SERTO's entry

Rüsselsheim am Main / May 13, 2024 -- What belongs together continues to grow together: H2 measurement pioneer and "Hermes Startup Award 2024" winner Archigas is delighted to have the well-known SERTO AG on board as a shareholder with immediate effect! The official participation of the esteemed and globally successful pipe connection specialist from Frauenfeld in Switzerland was preceded by years of trusting cooperation.

The high-quality stainless steel housings and screw connection systems are a key feature of Archigas' sensor innovations for hydrogen measurement. "Our solutions for more precise, faster and more stable H2 detection are literally closely linked to SERTO. As a particularly experienced and committed expert in its field, the company virtually shapes our microsensor technology for gas analysis. In short, we can't imagine a better partner in its new additional role as a shareholder! We are very much looking forward to continuing our journey together," say Archigas Managing Directors Illya Kaufman and Wladimir Barskyi.

Absolutely solution-oriented, the highest precision standards and always focusing on the needs of the user: these are the premises that measurement pioneer Archigas and established housing and screw connection master SERTO follow in equal measure. The two premium providers are combining the best of "Made in Germany" and "Made in Swiss" to increase the development of hydrogen for the green energy transition and economic success. "We are delighted to have found a partner in SERTO that has a high level of technical and technological expertise, is forward-thinking and, last but not least, is approachable on a personal level. We see the company's involvement in Archigas not only as a great opportunity, but also as a privilege," emphasize the two Archigas founders.

SERTO AG also emphasizes the similarities and potential for joint success on the occasion of its entry. "Expertise and innovative spirit characterize Archigas to a high degree. We can identify perfectly with these characteristics. For this reason, and in view of the interesting growth market associated with hydrogen, we have decided with complete conviction to invest in the company," says Kurt Bolliger, CFO of the SERTO Group.

"Archigas has started from pole position, so to speak, with its new solutions for the important H2 measurement. We are known for never standing still, so we are happy to be at the forefront and are delighted about this rare opportunity," emphasizes CEO Andreas Mühlthaler. "The young company has already achieved impressive things in the field of microsensor technology for gas analysis. We have followed Archigas' development closely right from the start. An investment at this point in time is the logical step," confirms CTO Norbert Kern.

"We are delighted about the investment at this point in time. This enables us to pool our expertise and integrate SERTO's industrial competence. In doing so, we are supporting Archigas in the process of advanced industrialization, to which we are contributing our profound knowledge of state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies and the application of lean management methods. This synergy leads to efficient production processes and enables scalability that ensures international quality standards," adds COO Frederik Hombach.

The new shareholder SERTO is a recognized specialist in pipe connection technology and is also H2-certified. With its fittings and the unique SERTO system, it creates clever tube connections that save time and money and are easy to install even in the tightest of spaces. From pipe elements, valves and housings to hoses and accessories, the Swiss company offers solutions for all industries and applications in which liquids or gases need to be transported, distributed or regulated. A team of 300 employees at seven locations in Europe and Asia develops, produces and distributes a broad portfolio of components.

Archigas GmbH, on the other hand, offers gas measuring devices in various designs based on its unique and award-winning sensor technology, including for H2 generation through electrolysis, for incoming quality control and gas purity testing as well as for controlling and monitoring gas mixtures. To this end, the company has implemented the precise thermal conductivity measuring principle in a new technical way and intelligently combined it with MEMS semiconductor technology. This multi-talented innovation, which has attracted a great deal of attention worldwide, is characterized by its outstanding precision, high reaction speed, stability and even moisture resistance, as well as its particularly compact dimensions. The uncomplicated handling of the devices, which are designed according to individual requirements, makes it particularly easy to integrate the TCD OEM modules into customer systems.

Archigas is highly specialised in microsensor technology (MEMS) and gas analysis. Since its foundation in 2020, the company has developed sensor solutions, particularly in the fields of thermal conductivity, pressure measurement and flow measurement. Archigas’s stated aim is to offer customers cost-effective plug and play solutions that reliably fulfil highly complex analysis tasks. Since 2022 the company has also been funded by the state of Hesse as part of its LOEWE programme (‘State Offensive for the Development of Scientific and Economic Excellence’). This is to support work on the development of measuring devices suitable for the exploration of natural hydrogen and helium deposits. In 2024, Archigas received the prestigious "Hermes Startup Award" from Federal Research Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger. Despite international bids from the USA and elsewhere, Archigas GmbH decided to establish its headquarters in the Rhein-Main region, in order to help bolster the state of Hesse, and therefore Germany as a whole, as a location for business.
