The project forms the first phase of Moeve’s ‘Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley’ at the La Rábida Energy Park in Huelva. Known as ‘Onuba,’ the facility is described as the largest green hydrogen plant in Southern Europe.

At 300 MW, the plant is expected to produce around 45,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year and reduce CO₂ emissions by around 250,000 tons annually. Moeve announced its final investment decision for the project in early March 2026.

Under the engineering, procurement, fabrication and supply contract, thyssenkrupp nucera will provide its alkaline water electrolysis technology for the plant. The company is due to supply 15 standardized 20 MW electrolyzer units.

The order volume is in the low three-digit million-euro range, with order intake expected to be booked in the second half of fiscal year 2025/26. In fiscal year 2025/26, thyssenkrupp nucera expects the project to have only a minor impact on sales, with most revenue recognition scheduled for fiscal year 2026/27.
