Polestar launches HYDRA OS for electrolyzers

Polestar Technology has launched HYDRA OS, an AI operating system for electrolyzers that is targeting lower energy consumption, longer asset life, and auditable operating data.
The platform runs as a physics-informed digital twin alongside the physical electrolyzer stack. It uses an ensemble of more than 20 machine learning and optimization algorithms, including Fuzzy Reinforcement Learning, Recurrent Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms, Bayesian Optimization, PCA-SVM pipelines, and Kalman Filters.
Polestar Technology said every optimization suggestion is constrained by thermodynamic and electrochemical physics. The company said the system provides a Shapley value trace for each decision, with the aim of making electrolyzer operations explainable and auditable.
HYDRA OS is designed to generate operational evidence relevant to lenders, insurance underwriters, and investment committees over the asset’s operating life. According to the company, its 100-agent AI swarm issues failure warnings up to 7 days in advance and requires 80% consensus across independent agent clusters before an alert reaches engineering teams.
The platform is also targeting a 15% reduction in kWh per kilogram of hydrogen produced through optimization of pressure, temperature, and current density parameters. In addition, Polestar said Fuzzy Reinforcement Learning control is projected to extend operational service life by 30–40%, deferring capital replacement by 2–4 years.
“Green hydrogen finance has a data problem disguised as a technology problem,” said Mert Satıcı, Founder of Polestar Technology.
“Lenders are not refusing to invest because electrolyzers don’t work. They are refusing because they cannot see inside the asset with enough clarity to price the risk. HYDRA OS makes the electrolyzer transparent – to operators, to engineers, and to the banks that need to finance it,” added Satıcı.
HYDRA OS is available as an embedded system for electrolyzers not yet in operation through OEM partnerships, and as a software overlay for existing electrolyzer farms in the field. Polestar said the platform works with industrial protocols including Modbus, OPC-UA, and MQTT, can be commissioned within 2–4 weeks, and is offered with a 90-day pilot program structured around validation, optimization tuning, and performance quantification.
