Guoruichen Unveils Full-Chain Hydrogen Technologies, Featuring Solid-State Storage and Zero-Carbon Solutions

Guoruichen (Qingdao) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has unveiled a portfolio of technologies covering the full hydrogen value chain, from production and storage to refueling and end use, at a launch event in Qingdao.
Under the theme “Power the Hydrogen Future, Forge Unmatched Momentum,” the company showcased its independently developed hydrogen technologies and commercial applications, including PEM electrolyzers, solid-state hydrogen storage systems, fuel cell stacks, hydrogen mobility solutions and an integrated zero-carbon industrial park solution.
The company’s latest hydrogen production offering is a new generation of PEM water electrolyzers designed to accommodate the intermittent output of wind and solar power. Combined with its proprietary wind-solar-storage-hydrogen intelligent energy management system, the solution dynamically matches renewable power availability with hydrogen production loads, supporting renewable-powered hydrogen production across the value chain.
For hydrogen storage and transportation, Guoruichen presented a dual-track approach combining solid-state and gaseous hydrogen storage. Its room-temperature, low-pressure solid-state hydrogen storage system uses lightweight, high-capacity hydrogen storage alloys. According to the company, a book-sized storage tank can support a hydrogen-powered two-wheeler with a range of up to 100 kilometers, while hydrogen swapping can be completed within seconds.
In the fuel cell segment, Guoruichen’s in-house developed hydrogen fuel cell stacks cover applications ranging from hundreds of watts to hundreds of kilowatts. Its lightweight metal bipolar plate stacks for low-altitude applications can start rapidly at temperatures as low as -40°C, targeting long-endurance industrial hydrogen drones. Meanwhile, its graphite bipolar plate stacks for heavy-duty trucks have a designed service life of more than 30,000 hours, supporting long-term operation in heavy-duty applications.
Building on its full-chain technology portfolio, Guoruichen has also developed modular hydrogen-powered two-wheelers for demonstration operations, as well as industrial hydrogen drones with a reported flight endurance of up to 2.5 hours. The company said the solutions are designed to accelerate the application of hydrogen in lightweight and civilian mobility.
The company also launched a three-tier hydrogen supply network integrating renewable power generation, hydrogen production and distributed micro-scale refueling facilities. The solution combines distributed hydrogen refueling stations with community hydrogen-swapping cabinets, aiming to address the infrastructure challenge of coordinating hydrogen vehicle deployment with the rollout of refueling infrastructure.
At the event, Guoruichen unveiled an integrated zero-carbon hydrogen industrial park solution designed to create a closed-loop multi-energy system integrating electricity, hydrogen, heat and gas. According to the company, the solution can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 10,000 metric tons per year, while creating pathways for renewable power utilization and carbon credit trading.
The company also launched its Hydrogen Cloud Ecosystem Initiative, opening access to core component supply, control-system development toolkits and intelligent operation and maintenance platforms for industry partners. The initiative marks Guoruichen’s strategic shift from a single-product supplier toward a full-chain hydrogen ecosystem service provider.
The launch event in Qingdao demonstrated the company’s approach to integrating hydrogen technologies across production, storage, refueling and end-use applications. Guoruichen said the solutions are intended to support the wider commercial deployment of hydrogen technologies and contribute to the development of Qingdao’s green energy industry.
