Hygreen Energy Partners with TMK and CCECC for Green Hydrogen Metallurgy Project in Uzbekistan

On August 7th, Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex (TMK), China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), and Hygreen Energy signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive large-scale green industrial developments in Uzbekistan. The strategic partnership leverages the strengths of all three parties to pioneer a low-carbon industrial model that integrates clean energy with value-added critical mineral processing.
Under the MoU, the parties intend to execute the projects using an EPC+Financing model, offering an end-to-end solution for project implementation. Preliminary site selections include Nurobod and Ohangaron in Uzbekistan, where the partners plan to evaluate the construction of advanced electrolyzer-based hydrogen complexes to support downstream industrial applications.
The tripartite agreement outlines clear roles for each participant.TMK will integrate mining, processing, and production workflows, supplying local critical mineral resources—such as tungsten, molybdenum, and rhenium—while defining requirements for deep processing; CCECC will oversee civil construction and overall project management; Hygreen Energy acting as the green hydrogen technology provider, will supply critical alkaline and PEM electrolyzer equipment along with turnkey hydrogen production solutions.
A primary objective of the project is replacing fossil fuels with green hydrogen in metallurgical processes, significantly reducing carbon emissions and advancing low-carbon metallurgy. Additionally, utilizing green hydrogen-powered processes for downstream processing of critical minerals like tungsten and molybdenum will enhance their economic value, supporting Uzbekistan’s green energy transition and industrial diversification goals. Upon completion, Nurobod and Ohangaron are poised to emerge as regional green industrial hubs integrating clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and international investment.
