David Heredero Olayo, Plant Director at Accelera's Guadalajara facility, confirmed on September 22 that the final unit in the 20-electrolyser order for BP's Lingen project had been delivered. The complete 20-unit system represents 100MW of PEM electrolysis capacity — the largest electrolyser system assembled by Accelera to date.

The 20 HyLYZER-1000 units were manufactured at Accelera's Guadalajara plant in Spain. BP's Lingen project in Germany is expected to be fully commissioned in 2027 and produce up to 11,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year, with renewable electricity expected initially to be supplied under an offshore-wind power purchase agreement. BP plans to use the hydrogen at its German refineries and make it available to industrial customers in the region.

Accelera is separately expanding its European manufacturing footprint with plans to manufacture its Advanced LFP battery platform at a facility in Spain. The battery is a modular 102kWh, up-to-840V system using cell-to-pack architecture, aimed at buses and trucks. The location of the Spanish facility has not been disclosed. Accelera is also developing its eULFA axle for low-floor buses and the 14Xe eAxle for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.

Amy Davis, president of Accelera and Components at Cummins, said: "We're seeing growing demand for battery-electric solutions in the European commercial vehicle market, and our customers are looking for partners who can help them scale with confidence. Manufacturing in Spain strengthens our ability to support customers locally, while positioning us for long-term growth in the region."
