The hydrogen-powered straddle carrier features a hydrogen fuel cell system supplied by zepp.solutions, whose team also supported its integration into Konecranes’ redesigned D200 platform.

In its latest article, Konecranes explores how hydrogen can serve as a complementary option where grid constraints or operational demands push battery technology to its limits.

As zepp.solutions’ Chief Commercial Officer, Jonas Brendelberger, explains in the article, fitting the fuel cell system, hydrogen storage and power electronics within the tight space and weight constraints of heavy-duty port equipment is a major part of making hydrogen work in practice.

zepp.solutions’ heavy-duty fuel cell systems are designed with these requirements in mind, combining high power density with integrated thermal, electrical and safety systems in a compact package.

The Konecranes article takes a broader look at where hydrogen can complement battery-electric solutions and what the Hamburg deployment is already demonstrating in live terminal operations.

About zepp.solutions

zepp.solutions develops hydrogen fuel cell systems and hydrogen-powered generator sets for zero-emission power supply.

Its fuel cell systems, ranging from 50 to 150 kW, are already powering demanding applications such as trucks, excavators and ships.

Based on this proven technology, zepp.solutions also offers stationary generator sets ranging from 150 to 600 kW. These units provide reliable, grid-independent power for extended periods and can be used on construction sites, as charging hubs for battery-electric fleets or as scalable zero-emission alternatives to diesel generator sets.
