Linea Søgaard-Lidell becomes CEO of Hydrogen Denmark

The hydrogen industry and Green Power Denmark have recently combined their strengths and expertise within hydrogen and Power-to-X in the organization Hydrogen Denmark. As one of its first actions, the board has hired Linea Søgaard-Lidell as director.

Linea Søgaard-Lidell is a former member of parliament for the Liberal Party. In the previous parliamentary session, she was the party’s climate and energy spokesperson. She has previously been a member of the European Parliament and has a master’s degree in analytical journalism.

As director of the newly established organization Hydrogen Denmark, Linea Søgaard-Lidell will help drive forward development within green hydrogen and Power-to-X.

Uffe Borup, Chairman of the Board of Hydrogen Denmark, says:

Linea Søgaard-Lidell brings great insight and a burning commitment to the green transition.

We are absolutely certain that she is the right person to develop Hydrogen Denmark into a strong interest organization for the emerging hydrogen industry. The production of green hydrogen can create growth and jobs in Denmark and contribute to freeing Europe from its dependence on fossil energy,

A broad majority in the Danish Parliament relaxed the requirements for the upcoming hydrogen pipeline last week, and this has created renewed optimism in the industry.

Linea Søgaard-Lidell, says:

We are in a very exciting place, and I am looking forward to throwing myself into the tasks.

The next step for the industry is for the German companies to enter into binding purchase agreements for green hydrogen in Denmark. Once this has happened, the Danish companies can invest in the production of hydrogen, and Energinet can move forward with establishing the hydrogen pipeline,

Linea Søgaard-Lidell wants to work as one of the first steps to ensure that the hydrogen pipeline is built. This requires, not least, that the EU continues to prioritize green hydrogen and that German companies are prepared to buy it.

It is also a priority to create a good framework for Danish production of green fuels for aviation.

Linea Søgaard-Lidell will start at Hydrogen Denmark on November 1st.
