German engineering group will supply 36 Hybrion PEM stacks for hydrogen projects serving gas infrastructure, industrial gas customers anBosch Secures 45MW PEM Electrolyser Stack Order from FEST for European Hydrogen Projectsd refineries.
Bosch has received an order from German electrolyser manufacturer FEST GmbH for 36 Hybrion PEM electrolysis stacks with a combined electrical capacity of 45MW.
The equipment will be used across several European hydrogen projects, building on the companies' existing work on industrial electrolysis systems.
Germany's Bosch has secured an order for 36 Hybrion proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis stacks from FEST GmbH, with a combined electrical capacity of 45MW.
Each stack has a rated electrical input of 1.25MW. FEST will integrate the equipment into electrolysis systems for projects involving gas infrastructure, industrial gas supply and refining across Europe.
Bosch confirmed the purchase order through its Hydrogen Energy business, although neither company disclosed the contract value, delivery schedule or locations of the individual projects.
Bosch and FEST Previously Built 2.5MW System
Bosch launched the Hybrion PEM electrolysis stack at Hannover Messe 2025, with production based at its Bamberg facility in Germany.
Bosch and FEST have already worked together on Hybrion-based electrolysis systems.
The companies previously developed a 2.5MW electrolyser at Bosch's Bamberg plant, using two Hybrion stacks integrated into a containerised system supplied by FEST.
According to FEST, the installation was commissioned in November 2025 and supplies hydrogen for fuel-cell testing at the plant.
The system uses renewable electricity and has a hydrogen production capacity of approximately one tonne per day. FEST handled the system integration, including water treatment, power electronics, gas processing and safety controls.
Bosch manufactures its Hybrion stacks at Bamberg, where each 1.25MW unit can produce up to 23kg of hydrogen per hour.
The company has not disclosed how much hydrogen the new 45MW installations are expected to produce annually or when the individual projects will enter operation.
