HANOVER - On September 14th, the 72nd IAA Transportation 2026 opened in Hanover, Germany. Dongfeng Truck showcased a lineup of hydrogen-powered commercial trucks, its 400kW hydrogen fuel cell product suite and associated technologies at the show.

Three hydrogen trucks built on the T1 new-energy commercial-vehicle platform were on display, engineered for long-haul logistics, resource haulage and urban cold-chain delivery. The booth also featured three hydrogen fuel cell systems rated at 120kW, 150kW and 400kW alongside a hydrogen internal combustion engine hybrid system, demonstrating the firm’s full-stack hydrogen technology portfolio.

The flagship 400kW fuel cell system targets long-distance, heavy-duty and high-cold plateau scenario. It achieves a peak efficiency of 65% and a mass power density of 1350W/kg, supports cold start at -40°C, and delivers an equivalent service life of 33,000 hours. The 150kW variant is designed for medium-and-heavy commercial vehicles, while the 120kW system serves light-duty trucks and intercity distribution. The hydrogen internal combustion engine hybrid unit displaces 16.2L, outputs a maximum power of 412kW and peak torque of 2500N·m, with 14 available operating modes.

The T1 new-energy commercial-vehicle platform featured at the exhibition is fully self-developed. It integrates six core modules: fuel cell, hydrogen storage, power battery, electric drive, central domain controller and integrated thermal management. When paired with the 400kW fuel cell stack, the hydrogen storage module enables a driving range of up to 1,700 km per refilling. The vehicle has a curb weight of 8.8 tonnes and hydrogen consumption below 7 kg per 100 km.
