YINGKOU - On September 15^th, Goldwind Science & Technology’s green methanol vessel Jian Hang Li Da departed Berth 11 at Yingkou Port, Liaoning Port Group, marking the official launch of Yingkou Port’s green methanol sea-land corridor. The milestone connects the full supply chain: onshore green methanol production, port transhipment, and seaborne export.

Yingkou Port No. 4 Company, Liaoning Port Group, serves as Northeast China’s hub for green methanol storage and transshipment. It boasts a storage capacity of over 200,000 m3 and a loading/unloading rate of 1,000 m3/hr. The terminal features four berths dedicated to green methanol, capable of accommodating vessels up to 85,000 tonnes. Supported by railway and highway access for cargo aggregation, the port obtained its ISCC EU certification back in 2024.

This maiden voyage establishes a land-sea intermodal corridor linking “production sites – port – markets”, filling the gap in large-scale seaborne export of green methanol from Northeast China. Working together with border inspection authorities, the port implemented coordinated logistics support and a “zero waiting time” scheme for vessel arrivals and departures. Custom and inspection procedures have been streamlined to eliminate constrains, cut circulation costs and lay a solid port foundation for regular green methanol transshipment operations.

With the corridor operational, a green energy logistics framework featuring “onshore production, sea-land intermodal transport and full-region coverage” has taken shape. It unlocks the circulation potential of Northeast China’s green methanol sector, support the development of a regional green methanol transshipment centre, and supports Yingkou Port’s evolution into a regional logistics hub for green methanol storage and transit.
